I have run into a strong of cocktail recipes that call for Demerara syrup. It’s basically just a simple syrup but made with Demerara sugar instead of plain sugar, which gives it a caramel taste. I took the easy way out and ordered some rather than making my own and when I figured it’d be 50/50 that the bottle would arrive broken. But no! And not by dumb luck. The packaging was genius and it was the first time I’ve seen anything quite like it. Seeing is believing so …
