Not a Note 287 - Just believe

A defining characteristic of the species known as “OMG, they’re here - run away!” to 99% of the other species on this planet is its ability to “believe”. Sometimes reasonable beliefs like “If I step off this cliff I’ll plunge to my death under the influence of gravity” and sometimes less so. Like “I believe the Earth is flat because I can’t see any curve to it.”

Of course, beliefs are part and parcel of our hopes and dreams.

The important thing is to understand what ultimately makes sense and what marks you indelibly as a loony.

Because when the nutty run for office and actually are voted in by the clueless, it generally leads to unfortunate outcomes.
